Hello dear blog friends, it's finally time to show you the first {big} step of my living room restyling. As I told you here, I'm doing some major works, like open the french window to the patio {the door was actually ready one week ago, but the glass has been broken during the transport and now we have to wait again}, send and paint the floor for a whitewashed look and add the white String.
The idea to change the sofa cover didn't pass through my mind to be honest, I was already resigned to leave the dark grey Ikea cover that replaced the beautiful light blue {all in the name of practicality}. So, when Rachel from Comfort Works approached me to work together I jumped at the chance!!
First I visited they website to see the product range. They offer slipcovers for Ikea sofas and armchairs, but also custom projects. The fabrics are hard wearing and machine- washable and it's possible to choose between a lot of options.
Rachel has been very helpful: together we discussed about the style I was looking for for my living room and then she sent me some fabric samples to test.
Since the beginning I've been completely attracted by the fact that they also have leather. I immediately start dreaming about my big, huge and comfortable sofa covered in white leather. And in the end, after testing the samples {I even rubbed them on Penny Lane!} I ordered the Modena White.
I think that is the most practical for me and my family and for our lifestyle.
After I placed my order, it took less than two weeks to have the slipcover, amazing!
Once here, I "recruited" Alberto and my grandma to help me and in one "Enea's nap time" {two hours, this is now our base measuring unit!} we managed to do an excellent work. The pink labels helped us a lot!
I can't be more happy about the result: the slipcover fit so well and the leather is super soft and looks tailored. It's also super resistant.. I don't want to enter in details but Enea did something disgusting after his meal and my grandma accidentally left a pen mark that I've been able to cancel with some baking soda and elbow grease. Now pens are banished from the sofa.

Buongiorno cari amici di blog, è finalmente il momento di mostrarvi il primo {grande} passo del restyling del mio living. Come vi ho detto qui, sto facendo alcuni lavori importanti, come aprire la porta finestra verso il patio {la porta era in realtà pronta una settimana fa, ma il vetro è stato rotto durante il trasporto e ora dobbiamo aspettare ancora...mmm}, sistemare e dipingere il pavimento con un colore più chiaro e aggiungere la String bianca.
L'idea di cambiare la cover divano non mi era nemmeno passata per la mente ad essere onesti, ero già rassegnata a lasciare la cover grigio scuro di Ikea che ha sostituito quella bellissima azzurra {tutto in nome della praticità}. Così, quando Rachel di Comfort Works mi ha proposto di lavorare insieme ho colto al volo l'occasione!!
Per prima cosa ho visitato il loro sito per vedere la gamma di prodotti. Offrono fodere per divani e poltrone Ikea, ma anche progetti personalizzati. I tessuti sono resistenti all'usura e lavabili in lavatrice ed è possibile scegliere tra un sacco di opzioni.
Rachel è stata molto utile: insieme abbiamo discusso circa lo stile che stavo cercando per il mio living e poi mi ha mandato alcuni campioni di tessuto da testare.
Fin dall'inizio sono stata completamente affascinata dal fatto che hanno anche la pelle. Ho subito iniziato a immaginare il mio enorme, comodissimo divano rivestito in pelle bianca. E alla fine, dopo aver testato i campioni {li ho anche strofinati sulla povera Penny Lane!} ho ordinato il Modena White.
Credo che questo sia l'opzione più pratico per me e la mia famiglia e per il nostro stile di vita.
Dopo aver effettuato l'ordine, ci sono volute meno di due settimane per avere la fodera, incredibile!
Una volta qui, ho "reclutato" Alberto e mia nonna per aiutarmi, il tutto nel tempo di un "pisolino di Enea" {due ore, questa è ora la nostra unità di misura temporale!} e siamo riusciti a fare un ottimo lavoro. Le etichette rosa ci hanno aiutato un sacco!
Non posso essere più felice del risultato: la fodera si adatta alla perfezione e la pelle è super morbida e sembra il lavoro di un sarto. È anche super resistente..non voglio entrare nei dettagli, ma Enea ha fatto una cosa disgustosa dopo aver mangiato e mia nonna accidentalmente ha lasciato un segno di penna che sono stata in grado di togliere con un po' di bicarbonato e tanto olio di gomito. Ora comunque le penne sono bandite dal divano.
Per giocare un po' e per mostrare quanto sia versatile questo fodera, ho deciso di fare tre differenti styling. Uno è un po' bohemien, il secondo segue la tendenza green e l'ultimo.. beh, l'ultimo sono IO!
